Dalkia UK Joins GLA's RE:FIT 5 Energy Framework

A specialist energy and building-services company has secured a place on the Greater London Authority's fifth-generation RE:FIT framework, which finances and delivers energy-efficiency improvements in public buildings. The framework supports hospitals, schools, local-authority offices and emergency services in cutting carbon and energy costs, and successful contractors will deploy teams of engineers and project managers across hundreds of sites over the coming years.

Large-scale retrofit programmes create peaks in demand for skilled labour and mobile plant. Engineers need vans equipped with tools, parts and safety gear; project supervisors require pool cars for multi-site visits; and site logistics often involve delivery of bulky equipment such as heat pumps, controls and insulation materials. Managing this fleet efficiently—and sustainably—is essential both to contract profitability and to the environmental credibility of a decarbonisation programme.

Contractors should consider whether their current fleet can meet framework commitments, especially if clients stipulate low-emission or zero-emission vehicles for site access in clean-air zones. Leasing arrangements that allow rapid scale-up and scale-down, together with telematics to optimise routing and reduce mileage, will be important. Salary-sacrifice EV schemes may also help attract the additional engineers needed to deliver complex retrofit projects on time.

Bluepoppy supports contractors bidding for and delivering public-sector frameworks by ensuring fleet capacity, emissions compliance and cost control are built into operational plans from the start. If your business is pursuing energy, retrofit or infrastructure contracts in London or the South West, a Fleet Cost Review will confirm your fleet is ready to mobilise.

Bluepoppy view: Winning the framework is one thing; delivering it requires a fleet plan that scales, flexes and stays compliant.
